GSI Outdoors Glacier Stainless Bottle Cup, Pot

 GSI Outdoors has made a very good product. I was impressed with the versatility of this cup. It is made of stainless steel with wire folding handles. I have used this on several occasions and found it performs very well. Cups are very important to the outdoorsman. We use then for several things like drinking, cooking, purifying water, storage for survival items, and in some cases even digging. In recent times I have noticed more and more people carrying water bottles instead of the old military canteen. This being the case this cup fits the bill well. It will fit over the top of the standard lexan water bottle as well as the new stainless steel bottles being produced by various companies.
This cup seems to complete most kits. I have found that carrying a cup separate from the container takes up space and adds unneeded bulk to a pack. Buy using the GSI stainless cup it solves this problem. |
I used this cup
in a video to demonstrate a tea made from the Juniper tree to make a
mouthwash. This cup actually made that video easier to do. Instead of using
the military canteen and cup I used the Guyot stainless bottle with this
cup. I was able to use the bottle to boil the water and use the cup to steep
the juniper. This cant be done with a plastic military canteen very easily.
The Above photo shows the finished juniper mouthwash in the cup.
I found picking up the cup easy by using my knife in the handle. It didn't slip and was pretty solid.
When I did use the cup for cooking on a fire it sooted up. Keep in mind this can not be helped. The cup cleaned up very easy. All and all I am happy to review this product. Get to GSI Outdoors and check out their product line. |
