So far I have used this pack
solidly for about two months. There are no complaints at all with this pack.
I will first deal with use and abuse of the pack then move on to the
specifics in the video below. First off I did my research on this pack before
deciding to use it in the field let alone do a review of the product. At
first when I pulled it out of the box I was a little put off by the size of
the pack. At first glance it resembled a beefed up child's day pack. I
quickly realized this was no issue. I examined the construction, the size,
and materials. Once I filled the pack with gear and the pack took on a whole
new persona. It became a tough looking pack that later I would find would
live up to its reputation.
Over the
course of a few weeks I
would carry the pack out into the wilderness with me. All the time noticing
how comfortable the shoulder straps fit around my shoulders. I was also
taking note of the sternum straps and how they didn't dig in as other packs
had in the past. The comfort of the padding in the back of the pack was
surprisingly comfortable as well.
To test the over all durability of this pack I threw it from
roughly 50 feet off of a cliff to simulate the possibility of losing the
pack while climbing. The pack was not hurt other than a little dirt. This
dirt simply wiped away with a damp rag. I was even amazed to see that there
weren't and abrasion marks where the pack had slid for the last ten feet or
so down the hill. I am seriously sold on this company. I was thinking I
would have a disaster story to write about after I threw the pack, but to
my disappointment the only thing that took a ding was my ranger cook pot in
side the main compartment.
Even this was fixed and cleaned up with no effort.
