Grand Trunk Nano 7 and Tree Slings Review

Impressive piece of gear. This is the Nano 7 Hammock review. It weighs less than 7 oz. and stores in its own attached stuff sack. It is made of rip stop nylon taffeta, and will support up to 400 lbs. This is impressive considering the size and weight of this hammock. It suspends easily using supplied carabineers. All stitching in high stress areas are triple stitched.

This is a photo of the Nano 7(right) packed away inside its stuff sack. At left is the stuff sack containing the tree slings. Both pack away to such a small size they can fit anywhere.

This is one of the supplied carabineers attached one on each end of the hammock. They say not for climbing but they definitely hold up under my weight in the hammock.

The set up hammock is extremely comfortable. As I have said in other reviews they are awesome for back trouble. It gets you off the hard ground. People have also told me that sleeping in hammocks has made camping fun for them again.

  The Tree Slings

These are in the stuff sack mentioned in the previous column. I like the tree slings for one main reason, they are simple to use. Simply wrap them around a tree and pull the knotted end through the loop. Give it a tug and you are good to go. This makes it possible to set a hammock up in seconds.

This is a photo of the tree sling wrapped around the tree and ready for use.

This shows the knot ready to accept the carabineer. The knots are strong and will hold up to 400 pounds.
