| I found this kit to be an excellent add on kit. It proved to
be rugged, versatile, and useful. The contents are not like most of the
other survival kits on the market. These are actually top quality contents.
Lets face it, most kits I wouldn't even consider even looking at. Let alone
stake my life on.
This kit includes the Blast Match, a plunge operated fire starter with a beefy ferro rod. This is a great tool in my opinion because of its one handed operation. This is important especially if you have an injury and only one arm to start a fire. The Jet Scream whistle: This is an ultra loud signaling devise. The Saber Cut Saw: A chain saw chain that can be used over and over again. You can also resharpen this saw to restore the cutting capabilities. The Star Flash Signal Mirror: This is a plastic signal mirror with a sighting hole in the center. It also has a lanyard hole. These mirrors can be seen by would be rescuers for many miles. Two packets of Wet Fire Tinder This stuff is amazing. It will float, burn on water, and lights even when wet. |
When I tested this product before I reviewed it I was
pleasantly surprised at the performance of all the contents. This kit is a
little pricey at around 70 bucks depending on where you buy it. I see it as
an investment in a life insurance policy. This kit is worth its weight and
will perform when you need it to. The size of the plastic waterproof box
that this kit comes in is small enough to fit in any pack or in a BDU cargo
pocket.
Extra wet fire can also be purchased from Ultimate Survival Technologies. You can purchase an eight pack for about ten bucks. This is a great deal on a great tinder. Trust me this stuff is awesome. Each item in this kit can also be purchased separately. This is great for people on a budget. Check out their site to learn more.
