The TOPS Knives Mini Scandi 2.5 is based on its big brother, the Brothers of Bush craft: Field craft knife. It features a Scandinavian grind on a 3-inch long, 1/8” thick blade, comprised of 1095 high carbon steel, with a tan canvas handle and a kydex sheath. This is the neck knife of all neck knives in my honest opinion. You can accomplish just about your entire camp chore needs with this tiny marvel. In my testing and reviewing I have beaver chewed, notched, made a feather stick, made stakes as well as batoned through bigger than thumb sized pieces of various types of native Arizona wood. If you were searching for a smaller knife to compliment your bigger heavier chopper or axe, I would say look no further. Not only is it great for smaller tasks it carves like nobody’s business. Currently I have carved one spoon and started on the second. I have made a figure 4-deadfall trap, as well as notched out some replacement pieces for that trap. I cannot say enough about this knife; the Mini Scandi 2.5 has literally become my “go to” neck knife. I like to carve and notch and just practice my over all knife skills as much as possible. In all honesty, I would always go back my Mora; well I have now replaced the Mora with the Mini Scandi 2.5 and am keeping the Mora as a backup. I, hope you get the opportunity to own one!
